With nearly 40 years of experience in the beauty industry mentoring, training and educating beauty professionals, not to mention 22 years as a Spa owner, Meg understands the challenges and the successes of running and growing a business. Leveraging her business experiences and life lessons as a business owner and lifelong student of the industry, Meg supports others in overcoming their fear of change and in achieving their business goals. Through instilling the value of strong communication skills and a positive attitude, she’s able to aid her clients in developing and accelerating the confidence and plans needed for success. She also strives to identify ways to generate new sources of revenue through powerful and creative solutions, leading to a profitable, fun and energetic business. Meg’s leadership foresight as a business owner, trainer and technician makes Meg more than a consultant; she’s a true mentor and coach.

The daughter of a salon-owner, Kim Gibson has the beauty industry in her blood, so it was no wonder she opened her own salon. It was also no wonder it felt like a ball and chain until she received coaching and revolutionized how she does business. After seeing the results Empowering You delivers – she experienced 75% growth in just one year – she joined Empowering You as a consultant. Now she works to show other salons the strategies and tips that resulted in her impressive growth.

Kim and her husband are active with a number of churches in her area and launched Embrace, a Christ-centered nonprofit that mentors young people.

Ashley is a salon owner from Houston Texas that has a keen passion for the beauty industry. Ashley has been in the salon industry for 20 years and has had an exceptional career behind the chair. She has a heart of gold and a contagious smile that both exudes and attracts beauty. Being the product of entrepreneurial parents, Ashley decided she would take the leap of faith at the age of 20 and has not looked back since. In 2019 she made the transition from suite owner to salon owner just in time for a pandemic! With support and determination, Ashley was able to grow her salon revenue by 106% during Covid while she was forced to watch people around her close the doors to their businesses for good. Having the opportunity and community in a time of need ignited and fueled an even greater agenda. In 2021, at the height of her career, Ashley decided to join Empowering You Consulting to become a business coach and consultant. Running such parallel careers has given Ashley the insight and relatability it takes to fully support and push owners to see their maximum potential! 

Vanesa Martinez is a salon owner in Northwest Indiana. She has 16 years in the beauty industry. She always knew she wanted to do hair and was selected from her high school to attend Vocational Beauty School. In 2008 she graduated both from high school and beauty school and quickly found her salon home at the local small town salon. What once was a far dream after 10 years of building clientele and managing the salon she was offered the opportunity to purchase the salon. With the challenges of having the rack, pack, stack mindset and limited beliefs, lack of systems and structure she knew needed something to help support her to grow the salon. In 2019, Vanesa attended a hair show and met Empowering You later to attend her first B-school and was given a new way of thinking and seeing what was missing for her business. With the support of her business coach and the Empowering You community she was able to implement new systems and grow her salon’s AST by over 184%. It was by overcoming fears, burnout and going after her dream. Vanesa in 2021 decided to take a leap of faith and follow her new passion for the beauty industry and joined Empowering You Consulting to become a business consultant and coach. Many know her as an encourager, joyful personality, and laughter. She is someone who cares and guides them onto making those small shifts that will make the biggest impacts in their lives. She knew if it can happen for her to restore a more joyful and purposeful life there was something worth sharing with others.
